Course Reflective Narrative
WLC 300: Major Pro-Seminar (Fall 2013)
In WLC 300, I learned about the two majors in the WLC department, Spanish and Japanese. This class gave me an idea of what to expect in the Spanish major as well as how to complete the requirements for the major. In this course, I learned about the requirements that I have to meet in order to graduate and get a BA in Spanish. I also learned about the final project or capstone and how to prepare for it. I developed an individual learning plan (ILP) with the Spanish advisor which helped me plan my future classes that will meet the major requirements. In addition, I learned about the opportunities in the Spanish major related to professional and career paths, including grad school and teaching credential preparation. I learned tips about how to write a personal statement, a resume and to prepare for graduate school. In this class, I briefly reviewed the concepts of culture and literature. I learned about study abroad programs, how to do research, look for scholarly and other reliable sources by using CSUMB’s library databases. In WLC 300, I attain more information about study abroad, technology, Google drive and how to use Google forms to create surveys.
